Independence Day

When in the course of Human Events, the established government of the Nation refuses to adhere to the will of the People, it is time to replace that Government with a Governing Body that will do the will of the People. That is the basis of the Declaration of Independence of The United States of America. This Nation was founded on the Principles of self rule, that the Government will be represented by employees of the People, and that those Government Employees elected by the People in free and fair elections shall pursue the policies and courses of action that the majority of the People of the Nation wish to pursue.

The Government Employees of the United States of America over the last seven and a half years has failed to adhere to the will of the People. Not only have they failed to consider the wishes of the American for whom they work, but they have outright stated that they do not care what the American People think, care about or want. When the Government Employee filling the vice-president role was told that over 70% of the American People want the occupation of Iraq to end, the Vice President replied, "So what". This has been a common response from the currently entrenched employees from the Republican Party who now fill the hired positions of Government.

Even calls by the People for The Congress, currently controlled by the Democratic Party have been met with indifference. The United States People want the Treasure and Blood of American Citizens to stop being wasted in an occupation of a Sovereign Nation. The American People want The Congress to investigate how this illegal invasion occurred, why the occupation is continuing, where the money was spent and why. The American People by an overwhelming Majority want this occupation to end. Yet, all levels of Government Employees fail to respond to the will of the People.

Commemorating the Greatest Day in American History the People should remember the courageous example set by farmers and merchants who in 1776 without regards to consequences determined to revolt against the Governing entity and enact their will. These simple men with extraordinary ideals and convictions would expect no less of the succeeding generations of the Nation that they formed. These men were careful to construct a Government that would be responsive to representing the will of the People, so much so, that they constructed a system of checks and balances that they believed could not be circumvented. These men would be ashamed and astounded that the Citizenry did not stand up and demand accountability from the Government employees elected to represent their will.

The American People must demand that the Government Employees respond to the will of the People. The People are demanding a Nation secured by Energy Independence, not a Nation secured by trampling the Rights that were carefully crafted into the Founding Documents by men of vision and integrity.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."
