"Tonight, I want to ask you, whether you are an independent, a Reagan Democrat, a Clinton Democrat, or just a plain old Democrat: This year, when you vote for president, vote for the person you believe is best for our country, not for the party you happen to belong to," Lieberman said in a speech before the Republican National Convention last night. Senator Liberman was the Democratic Vice Presidential candidate only eight years ago. After losing his Senatorial Primary Bid for re-election Senator Liberman bolted the Democratic to run as a an "Independent".
For his entire career Senator Liberman was a democrat who professed the democratic ideals, after losing his democratic primary Liberman showed his real concern, not concern for ideals but a selfish concern to maintain the power of his Senate seat. Although he has caucused with the Democrats since being elected as an independent he has supported the Republican agenda that has sunk our Nation into despair and engulfed us in two wars of insurgency which does not advance or protect our National Security in any way. Now eight years later Senator Liberman sees the writing on the wall and has become a traitor and a speaker at the Republican National Convention. It is time for the Democratic Majority to remove Senator Liberman from all his Committee leadership positions since he does not believe in the Democratic Agenda.
Like Senator McCain, Senator Liberman will do what is most expedient for his personal power not what is best for the America People. These two Senators show by their changing agendas that their only concern is maintaining the power and the profits that come with being Senators. Senator McCain is so deep into the lobbyists pockets that most of his Campaign Staff are Washington Lobbyist, including his campaign manager. Senator McCain cares so little about America that he has nominated a Vice Presidential running mate who did not even have a passport until 2007. It is absurd to think that Sarah Palin will be a heartbeat away from being the leader of the free world when she has never travelled the world. It is an odds on bet that Seantor McCain at 72 Years old with a history of cancer will not be able to finish one term as President, yet his selfishness compels him to run for President and if he should win he thinks so little of the Nation that he has nominated a running mate that does not trust in Science but rather is a Creationist. At this vital junction in American History it is of the utmost importance that we have a leadership in Washington that will enable science to free us from the Fossil Fuel Era and move us into the New Era of Alternative Energy.
At this moment in the History of the Nation it is of utmost importance to have a leadership in Washington that will empower the People of the Nation to grow and develop economically, yet Senator McCain after admitting that he doesn't know much about the Economy, nominates a running mate who knows less. The Remarks before Gustav by Cindy McCain, the Senator's Wife, before the Republican Convention is very telling of the true beliefs of the McCain's. Mrs. McCain told the Republican Convention, that it was time to take off their Republican Hats and put on their American Hats. Contrary to the McCain slogan of Country First, Mrs. McCain's comments show that they are Republicans first, and Americans second.
