John Edwards Sees The Harm

Surprisingly I have come across a Presidential Candidate who addressees 39% interest rates. On John Edwards For President Web Site, under Issues, in a section named Debt and Savings , the issue is discussed as: "Limiting Abusive Credit Card Practices: Credit card penalty interest rates can now top 39 percent. Deceptive tactics include bait-and-switch marketing on interest rates, penalty rates triggered by unrelated debt under "universal default" clauses, and mailing statements later in an effort to induce more late fees. Edwards will restore balance in the credit card market through a Borrower's Security Act. The strong new law will require credit card companies to: (1) disclose the true cost of making only minimum payments, (2) restore a 10-day grace period before imposing late fees and penalty rates, (3) apply interest rate increases to future balances only, and (4) end the practice of universal default, where a creditor can change borrowers' terms based

Dems Roll the Dice in Vegas

The Democratic Candidates had a debate in the gambling capital of the world, the irony is not lost on the electorate. The next election will be a gamble. After 8 years of planned destruction of the previous administration the next President will be a gambler. No matter what the issue, the next President will have to gamble on a solution because all of the Nation's problems have been exacerbated by the Administration of 2000-2008. No matter if it is the War, the Economy, Social Security, Education, Infrastructure, Foreign Policy, Energy Policy or the disappearance of the Middle Class, the next President will be gambling that any solution is not too late. With that in mind the Democratic Candidates basically used the debate in Vegas to attack each other and point out the the other's flaws. A few ideas were presented, but nothing solid. Each Candidate should be presenting his or her ideas and solutions instead of pointing out that the other Candidate does not have a solution. It i

What Democrat Will Stand Up

Will any Democrat stand up for Americans in The Las Vedas Debate. Will ONE of them mention a plan for Energry self suffienctancy? Will ONE of them memtion the brutal interest rates being charged by credit card companies? Will ONE of them memtion a workable health plan? I fear not, I fear that the current crop of Presidential Candaidtes are blimd to the destruction of the middle class and freally dn't care about its demise. Aside from the War and the foreign policy fiasco of this administration, we are all feeling the effects of the assault on the middle class and this will intensify as interest is allowed to be a loan sharking game by the banks, and as energy is allowed to be a corporate dame of excessive profits. Do the Democrats mention either? Not a one of them. The Southeast is suffering from the worst drought in 100 years with no relief in sight. A Government with leadership and leaders would be addressing this issue. Has any Presidential Candidate even mentioned this? Is ther
