What Does the Next U.S. President Face?

Image
With Labor Day, the unofficial end of Summer, close at hand, it won't be long before the Presidential race becomes the main focus. Soon the Conventions will occur, then the debates and in less than 90 days, the election. It is hard to understand how any person would want to be elected President in this cycle. The next President will face challenges not seen by a United States President since FDR. On the Home Front the Economy teethes on the verge of a very deep recession if not a depression. The Credit markets are a mess, on the one hand the serious slow down in economic activity cries out for low interest rates, but the rise in commodity prices foreshadows an inflationary period which would call for higher interest rates. Congress still refuses to act with the Democratic leadership still wallowing without direction. The P...

Recession

Iowa has come and gone. Hillary is in trouble, Obama is the new kid to beat, he will win NH, but why are none of the leading Candidates talking about the deepening recession that we are in. The "News" still says - We might be headed for a recession. What a joke. Ask a small business man. We are in a horribly deep recession. Look around you at your local stores - how many are closed, are closing or will close...... ask them how they are doing if you frequent a small business. The Small Bossiness owners in America are dying. Where are the solutions, Mr. and Mrs. Candidates........when will one of you even mention the deepening financial cries of Main Street America, do you even know or do you live in a world of oblivion. Isn't it absurd the money that is being spent on Media Ads by these campaigns........the dollar amounts are staggering to the average American, and yet they are all professing to be the Candidate of Change. The Candidate of Change would propose changes that...
