Happy New Year 2009

Hopefully, the new year and the new administration will bring a new sensibility to Washington. The devastation left by the outgoing Republican George W. Bush Administration will be more than hard to correct, but a new vision and a realization of the purpose of Government might just be enough to begin the long journey to righting the ship of state. Before Mr. Obama even takes office the challenges are growing daily. The Bush Administration is hell-bent on doling out the remainder of the TARP money without any oversight. They are declaring Corporations to be bank holding companies so that they can receive a chunk of the money before the Republicans flee Washington and join the Corporations that received the government largess. The Obama Administration must not shy away from investigating all of these handouts to these Corporations in the last few months. They must not only investigate why this money was given out but also what was done with it and why it has failed to free up the credit...

2008 What a Year

2008 is a year we will remember for decades to come. 2008 was the year that all the flawed policies of the Republican Philosophy of Governance showed its face and destroyed the progress that America has achieved over the last 60 years. The Failed policies of the Republican Bush Administration grabbed the headlines from the collapse of major Insurance Companies to the banking system to the retail sector to the automotive industry. The foolishness of tax cuts for the wealthy while occupying two Sovereign Countries after illegally invading them came home to roost. The shining moment in 2008 was the election of Barack Obama to the Presidency of The United States which holds a slim promise for the future after the Bush Administration destroyed all the good things in America. 2008 also saw the Republicans highlight their absurd vision of America with the nomination of Sarah Palin as the Vice Presidential Candidate. After 8 years of a C student President, the Republicans seriously nominated a...

Fed Now Sees Recession

The Federal Reserve has finally announced that the Nation is in a recession. It seems a little late being that in their announcement they said we are most likely in the 14th month of the recession. It is all too convenient that this information was withheld from the American public during the recent election cycle. If it had been made public, maybe less of the corrupt Republicans would have been re-elected to Congress and the phony John McCain would not have even been a close second. Regardless of the games they played, the Republicans still lost the election because the American Public could feel the suffering caused and knew that we were in recession, they did not need the Fed to finally come clean. The worst news however is that they are still lying, we are not in an economic recession we are in an economic depression. Contrary to John McCain's financial adviser during the campaign, Phil Gram, it is not in the minds of the American People, it is all too real. Phil Gram is one of...

Republicans Break the Bank

Image
The House of Representatives narrowly defeated the 700 Million dollar Bailout Proposal submitted by the President and The Secretary of The Treasury and modified by the Congress. Pressure from the American People prevented this Bill from passing. Luckily it is an election year and the Congress fears for their seats. If this had not been an election year, this Bill most likely would have sailed through without a thought about what the American People think. Senator McCain quickly grabbed a hold of the Bailout as a Political trick to enhance his failing Campaign. Although it is obvious to most of the American Public that McCain was politicizing the effort he continually tried to project that upon Senator Obama. Mr. McCain went so far as to blame the defeat on Senator Obama while House Republicans blamed the defeat on a speech by Speaker Pelosi before the vote. In the speech Ms, Pelosi laid out the facts, the Bush Administration took power with a record surplus that was projected to grow e...

President Hoover Speaks to The Nation

Image
In a Special Heart to Heart Talk with the American People President George "Hoover" Bush addressed the Nation on the economic catastrophe that is facing the Nation because of his Republican Administration's lack of oversight and enforcement of the regulations upon the Corporations and Corporatist who support the deregulation of the "Free Markets" and the failed policies of the Republicans. President George" Hoover" Bush let the American People know that there is no choice but to accept his Republican Administration's Bailout Plan. The President told the American People that if they do not accept the Bailout Plan that is necessary because of 30 Years of Failed Republican Policies that the Nation will sink into a recession and lose millions of jobs, and not be able to send their children to college or to buy a new car, that doesn't sound much different than the way we have been living the last eight years under the Failed Policies of the Republic...

Obama Acceptance Speech

Image
Senator Obama delivered a modified stock campaign speech in accepting the Democratic nomination on a most historic day. On the 45th Anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream Speech" Senator Barack Obama accepted the nomination for President of a major political party. Senator Obama was able to articulate both a vision for continuing the dream and a plan to attaining the objective. At times Senator Obama showed flashes of conviction, anger and disgust at the current Republican Policies now plaguing our Nation and hindering the dreams of the American population. The Senator was able to eloquently present a vision for the future while reminding the listeners of the failures of this Republican Administration and the Republican Party represented by Senator John McCain. Senator Obama shows an understanding of the plight of the American Family that the Republican Candidate fails to see. " We meet at one of those defining moments, a moment when our nation is at ...
