Sarah Palin - Attack Dog With Lipstick

Image
The McCain campaign has put their VP nominee Sarah Palin in the role of vicious attack dog. She goes from rally to rally giving the same speech, linking Senator Obama to a string of lies, innuendos and accusations while stirring up the crowds and ignoring shouts of hostility from the crowd towards Obama. The Straight Talk Express has been anything but, and has now sunk to the depths of slander politics. In the course of a "normal" campaign when the VP nominee goes into a town, he or she would meet with as much local press as possible, this is not the case with Ms. Palin. The McCain Campaign will not let her step out of their protective custody and talk to the press. Doesn't every American see this as an aberration of the Political System, that we will never hear from the Vice Presidential Candidate in any forum other than a stock campaign speech. From the beginning McCain said that his campaign would be an honest and truthful campaign, McCain has failed to live up to eith...

John McCain Calls You "Friend"

Image
During Tonight's Presidential Debate John McCain invoked the phrase "My Friends" countless times, as if by calling us his "friends" we will somehow join him in his alternate reality. Throughout the debate John McCain claimed positions on issues that he never acted upon in his twenty-six years in the Senate. His mantra of I know how to fix Washington is getting really tiresome coming out of the mouth of a Senator of Twenty-Six Years who has been in the lobbyists pockets for most of those years. Mr. McCain was a central figure in the failure of the S& L 's in the 80's with his involvement in the Lincoln Savings Banks founder and major McCain Contributor Mr. Keating . Yet, McCain with a straight face and a forced sincerity in his voice looks the American People right in the eye and claims that he is not an insider in Washington. He even went as far as to distance himself from an Energy Bill that the Bush/Cheney Administration supported by claiming that...

Republicans Break the Bank

Image
The House of Representatives narrowly defeated the 700 Million dollar Bailout Proposal submitted by the President and The Secretary of The Treasury and modified by the Congress. Pressure from the American People prevented this Bill from passing. Luckily it is an election year and the Congress fears for their seats. If this had not been an election year, this Bill most likely would have sailed through without a thought about what the American People think. Senator McCain quickly grabbed a hold of the Bailout as a Political trick to enhance his failing Campaign. Although it is obvious to most of the American Public that McCain was politicizing the effort he continually tried to project that upon Senator Obama. Mr. McCain went so far as to blame the defeat on Senator Obama while House Republicans blamed the defeat on a speech by Speaker Pelosi before the vote. In the speech Ms, Pelosi laid out the facts, the Bush Administration took power with a record surplus that was projected to grow e...

McCain Needs To Fire Himself

Image
John McCain is running around the Country proclaiming he is now the candidate of reform and that government regulations are needed to deal with the financial collapse of the United States Financial Markets. McCain is trying to point the finger at Senator Obama as a cause of the collapse because he took campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac while failing to mention that Senior Members McCain Campaign Staff were lobbyists for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac who have spread money around Washington for years in order to get deregulation. Senator McCain's staff is packed with lobbyists on leave from their multi-million dollar lobbying jobs, yet McCain runs around proclaiming that he will end the practice. This is the same Senator McCain who proclaimed himself "the deregulator" while campaigning against George Bush for the Republican nomination in 2000. The basic tenant of the so called "Reagan Conservatives" that the Republican Party wishes to emulate is...

Rape-The-Public-Con Tidbits

Image
In order to keep the lunacy of the Sarah Palin Cult on the Front Page of the Blog as long as possible today's Post will be short. Today George "Hoover" Bush, made a 260 word statement on the Economy assuring the Nation that the Government was taking action, too bad he doesn't understand what is going on and what action the Fed is taking. Remember during the last campaign it was revealed that he was a "C" student in Economics. Meanwhile, John McCain is running around the Country blaming the Democrats for the Republican Policies that got us here. Here's an interesting one from Reuters, August 30,2008: " NEW YORK, Aug 30 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers has hired Jeb Bush, brother of the President of the United States, as an advisor to its private equity business, a source familiar with the situation said. Lehman hired another relative of U.S. President George W. Bush last year--George Walker, a second cousin, who heads up the bank's asset management bu...

Carleton "Carly" Fiorina

Image
The Senior Financial Adviser to the John McCain Campaign made the Sunday Talk Show rounds today to defend the campaign of John McCain and their choice of Sarah Palin as the Vice Presidential Nominee. This is the same John McCain Campaign Adviser that was the the CEO of Hewlitt-Packard, and on the morning cable show, "Morning Joe" on MSNBC said that the price of gasoline doesn't affect the economy much. Ms. Fiorina received over 21 Million Dollars when she was asked to resign from Hewlitt-Packard, so gasoline at a few dollars a gallon would not have much affect on her economic life, but it certainly does on a $10 an hour worker. Of course multi-millionaires like Ms. Fiorina and Senator McCain would have no idea what it is like to support yourself or your family on $10 per hour. John McCain even stated that middle class is someone who makes 5 million dollars a year. Of course when your senior economic adviser made 21 million dollars in compensation for leaving a company, it...

The Election Nightmare

Image
A few short weeks ago it seemed as if the American Public had finally realized that the last eight years of Republican Politics had nearly destroyed the Nation. It looked as if the Nation was really ready to embrace a new direction. The Democrat Senator Barack Obama had bucked his own party's establishment and wrestled the Presidential Nomination from the likely Democratic Heir, Senator Hilary Clinton. The Republicans decided that the tried and true Politics of the Bush/Cheney Administration had worked so well that they would nominate someone who also believed in the policies of Republican failures. The Republicans nominated Senator John McCain. The message of Senator Obama was so right and powerful that the Republicans were overshadowed. Senator McCain was crisscrossing the Country with the typical Republican Campaign tactic of creating issues where there weren't any and ignoring the real needs of the Nation. Senator Obama chose Senator Joe Biden as a running mate. Senator Mc...

Obama Must Rally the Troops

Image
The McCain Campaign continues to bring the Presidential race down to the reactionary politics for which the Republican Party is famous. Without going through the phony issues of the day that the Republicans try to lay at the feet of Senator Obama. Senator Obama must have the conviction and the immediacy of to answer the lies, distortions, and phony claims that the Republicans will come up with on a daily basis. There is no excuse this time, the money is there, the organization is in place, the Democrats should have learned from the Gore and Kerry mistakes. Every lie, and distortion must be answered forcefully and immediately by not only the Obama campaign but also by the legions of Democrats that hold Public Office and the Leaders of the Parity. No attack can go unanswered no matter how absurd or how frivolous the charge, it must be answered forcefully and quickly. The Obama Campaign can not allow this McCain nonsenses to stand Even for one news cycle. The Obama Campaign must answer in...

McCain a Maverick In His Own Mind

Image
It didn't take long for Senator John McCain to mention the attacks of 9/11 in his speech accepting the Republican Nomination for the Presidency. In fact it happened within 90 seconds, "I'm grateful to the President for leading us in those dark days following the worst attack on American soil in our history, and keeping us safe from another attack many thought was inevitable; and to the First Lady, Laura Bush, a model of grace and kindness in public and in private. And I'm grateful to the 41st President and his bride of 63 years, and for their outstanding example of honorable service to our country." The Official start of the speech was 9:11 PM - this was not a coincidence but a planned move by the Republican McCain Campaign. The Republicans can't seem to stop capitalizing on the attacks that the Republican President George Bush failed to prevent even after being warned in a Presidential briefing one month prior to the attacks. Here Senator McCain praises Bu...

McCain VP Choice Still Stunning

Image
Now that the McCain VP Choice, Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin, a Governor for all of eighteen months begins to get some media scrutiny the foolishness of this choice becomes all the more apparent. The McCain campaign and the right wing media minions of the Republican Party are now hounding a talking point that Ms. Palin has more experience in Governance that Senator Obama. Their argument hinges on the facts that she was the mayor of a town of 7,000 and a Governor for 18 months. They conveniently forget to mention facts such as, she didn't even have a passport until 2007. It is hard to fathom someone running the United States who knows nothing about the rest of the world. It has also been noted that Sarah Palin is a Creationist, and supports Creationism being taught in Public Education as a matter of Public Education Policy. It is beyond resaon to think that the lessons of Creationism should be taught in the Public Education System. Those that preach Creationism believe that the ...

McCain Not A Maverick

Image
Senator McCain is now going around the country calling himself a "Maverick". I can think of a lot of words that define Senator McCain's political career but "Maverick" is not one of them. The McCain Campaign is riddled with lobbyists and old time politicians who have supported the Corporate Government of G.W. Bush and think that Ronald Reagan was a Great President. Senator McCain should use the online dictionary where he would see that one of the definitions of a Maverick is: 2. a lone dissenter, as an intellectual, an artist, or a politician, who takes an independent stand apart from his or her associates. then he would know that he is not one. McCain's entire campaign is run by Corporate Lobbyists. His Campaign manager has lobbied for foreign governments, and has even lobbied McCain, what kind of dissenter is he? What has he dissent from? The only dissent I can recall easily is when he dissented from making Martin Luther King Day a Federal Holiday, he d...

McCain Ad Lies and Fear

Image
Today's ad from the McCain Fear Machine again tries to paint Senator Obama as a "celebrity" showing him on front of applauding crowds and with media. Then the Lies begin, the Ad staes that Obama would raise middle class taxes, raise taxes on Seniors and raise taxes on Familes and small businesses. All lies. The Obama Plan actually calls for lowering taxes on all of the above and raising taxes on those making over $250,000. While the screen shows the printed words the video shows a mother with children, a Senior , a florist with the lies superimposed over them, and then "Painful". Calling the Obama plan painful towards the America People. The reality is that the Bush Administration Tax and economic plans supported by Mr. McCain, and endorsed by Mr. McCain is what has caused the most painful 8 years for the American Family since the Great Depression. The McCain Plan would continue the Bush doctrine of cutting Corporate taxes and taxes for the wealthy, the same p...

McCain Pushes Phony Issues

Image
Senator McCain continues with the drill here, drill now mantra. He went before a crowd in SD and laughed at Senator Obama's suggestion that people properly inflate their tires, which even the Department of Energy says will inprove your gas milage by 3.3%. Of course the McCain campaign keyed in on one sentence in a 7 page energy plan by Senator Obama. He completely ignormed a;ll the other progragms and intiatives that would reduce the dependence on fossil fuel and lead us to to a new age of clean, renewable, sustainable energy. The new McCain Republican trick is to say that Congress went on vacation while there is an energy crisis. Some House Republicans are staging a phony take over of the House calling on a vote for off shore drilling. McCain keeps calling on Congress to return and vote, will he show up? Senator McCain has missed over 72 votes in the last eight months. What a phony. Drilling here, drilling now will not affect gas prices now or in the future. Invading Iraq affec...

Odds and Ends -July 31,2008

#1 Today the Commerce Department announced that we are not in a recession. Obviously, the Commerce Department has no clue about what is going on in America. I have been in retail for 35 years and this is the worst I have ever seen, aside from my personal observations, talking with many other small business owners in retail it is a consensus that business is the worst they have ever seen. Not only are we in a recession, but we are most likely on the verge of a major economic Depression (note to McCain Staff: Not a Mental Depression). #2 - In an NPR interview Speaker Pelosi said the reason that the Democrats did not choose to pursue Impeachment of the Bush-Cheney duo was because the Democratic leadership felt that it was more important to pass other legislation to deal with the recession and the energy crisis. Ms. Pelosi, you failed, not only did you not live up to the mandates of the Constitution by Impeaching an Administration that has very obviously committed "high crimes"...

McCain Ideas As Old As Coal

Image
Today John McCain announced another policy that his Administration would pursue if elected President. John McCain committed to spending 2 Billion dollars a year every year to develop clean coal technology. What an obsolete idea. Senator McCain reflects the ideas of the past. Fossil Fuels are a dead energy source. Any investment in Energy should be in sustainable, renewable, alternative energy, not in providing more money to the fossil fuel industry. Mr. McCain of course would rather support the fossil fuel industry because it is loaded with lobbyists who contribute to the RNC and the McCain Campaign. Yesterday he said he would rather win a war than win a campaign, and accused Senator Obama of the opposite. What Senator McCain fails to realize because of his antiquated thoughts is that the war we must win as a Nation is the war of running our economy on fossil free fuel sources. A forward looking Energy Policy does not include any fossil fuels or the enhancements of fossil fuel burnin...

McCain Rejected by The New York Times

Image
John McCain wrote an editorial hoping to have it published in the New York Times to counter an Editorial written by Senator Obama and published by the New York Times. According to the Drudge Report the McCain Editorial read in part, "Now Senator Obama has been forced to acknowledge that “our troops have performed brilliantly in lowering the level of violence.” But he still denies that any political progress has resulted." Senator Obama and the rest of those who oppose the continued occupation of Iraq have never claimed that the troops did not do their assignment well, what has been said Mr. McCain is that the leadership of the Republican Bush Cheney Administration did not do their job. The Leadership of this Republican Administration have failed from the beginning of this fiasco. They failed when lied about the reasons for invading a Soverigen Nation and orchestrating the overthrow of a sitting Government and installing a Government that they controlled. They failed with all...
