When in the course of Human Events, the established government of the Nation refuses to adhere to the will of the People, it is time to replace that Government with a Governing Body that will do the will of the People. That is the basis of the Declaration of Independence of The United States of America. This Nation was founded on the Principles of self rule, that the Government will be represented by employees of the People, and that those Government Employees elected by the People in free and fair elections shall pursue the policies and courses of action that the majority of the People of the Nation wish to pursue. When G.W. Bush took office the price per share of GM was over $80.00 which would have bought you over 80 gallons of gasoline. Today June 27, 2008 you can buy a share of GM stock for $11.55 which will buy you less than 3 gallons of gasoline. There was an adage in the 1950's thru the 1970's that said, "as GM goes, so goes the Nation", which meant that when GM was doing well financially, so too was the Nation. If we apply that adage today, when G.W. Bush took office GM was doing very well financially, and by coincidence so was the Nation. When the Republican Bush/Cheney Administration took power GM stock price was at an all time high and the Nation had a surplus in the budget. John McCain thinks that giving the American Tax Payer a gas tax Holiday (Eliminating the Federal Gas Tax for a set period of time) is a solution to the current economic and energy crisis that is now plaguing America due to the policies of the last seven and a half years. Eliminating the gas tax will save the average American driver about $32.00 over a three month period. Does John McCain actually think that saving the America driver $32.00 will fix the economic mess that his Party's leadership has caused? America is in this economic mess because the current Republican Administration and the Republican Congress from 2000-2006 looked adopted and pushed the Bankruptcy Bill that was written by the financial industry.
