President Obama held his second Prime Time Press Conference on March 24,2009, his second Prime Time Press Conference since taking office on January 20, 2009. Mr. Obama presented a brief statement about the various efforts of the Administration to heal the economic wounds left by the previous Republican Administration, they thoughtfully and politely answered inquiries from the press. Unlike the previous President, Mr. Obama seems able to address questions from all segments of the 4th Estate regardless of their political leanings. In this regard, Mr. Obama selects questioners from a wide range of media outlets and political persuasions throughout the conference. Most of the questioners focused on specifics and reasons of certain programs and the effect that the Administration hoped to achieve through their implementation. It is so refreshing to see a man who acts and speaks like a President at a Press Conference, for that matter even seeing the President at a Press Conference. It seems like President-Elect Obama has already given more Press Conferences that G.W.Bush did for his entire eight years, not that that is a bad thing because just watching G. W. Bush at a Press Conference was usually an embarrassment to the Nation. President-Elect Obama is not only at ease with the Press, he is polite, informative and direct. I can't even remember the last President we had that made a Press Conference an interesting event to watch, I guess Kennedy. How refreshing to see Senator Obama interact with the press in a Presidential manner after eight years of watching the embarrassment of the Bush Press Conferences. Senator Obama addressed the press with respect and his answers where succinct and to the point. With the announcement of the under reported unemployment numbers by the Bush Administration over the last few months, it was obvious that Senator Obama realizes that the financial disaster created by the Republican Bush Cheney Administration is worse than most people thought. Senator Obama showed and expressed the proper concern over the newly released numbers.
